Postpartum doula care

A practical tedner hand

MY DOULA SERVICES

Although the area I work is predominantly postpartum, I do co-share clients with the lovely Rubi for births. So please do reach out and get in contact if that something that would be of interest to you.

Postpartum care

This space is for you, if you've just had a baby or you're about to and not really prepared you for this bit. The birth happens, everyone asks about the baby. But what about you?

The fourth trimester; those first twelve weeks at home can feel overwhelming, isolating and nothing like you imagined. You're not alone in how you feel, but it's how it is, when we try to do this alone. Mothers also benefit and flourish when they are held and taken care of.

I'm here for this part.

Newborn care, feeding support, a meal on the stove, a hand with the older children, the washing that's been sitting there for three days; when you just need to talk, I'm here for that too.

The practical and the emotional, all under one roof.

Some families find me before their baby arrives and we plan together. Others call me when they're already in it. Either way, you're welcome here. Every family is different. I follow your lead.

I believe that after birth, you need to be honoured.
Your body has done something extraordinary.
You deserve space, time and care to heal.
The ripple effect of that filters through to your baby and your partner too.

PRAISE

PRAISE

Vale looked after our daughter when she was just a few months old. Finding support for yourself and young baby is daunting, but Vale immediately put us at ease. She is not only highly professional and competent but also exceptionally kind, warm, open and caring. We always felt very comfortable leaving our daughter in her care. We knew she was in safe hands, while resting that Vale was giving her the love and support that a newborn needs to thrive.

Valentina was always reliable and looked after our daughter to a very high standard, which was very important to us. My daughter had been struggling with feeding and sleeping but she thrived with Valentina support. Even more important than this, she was always happy. Valentina has a wonderful friendly and relaxed attitude along with the ability to always see the most positive in everything. That meant there was always joy in the house for our little daughter. For parents that is the most important thing you can need and not as easy to come by.

Vale came to help me and my husband with postnatal care for my daughter when my postpartum doula time had come to an end. I still felt like I needed support and Valentina was the perfect antidote. I was struggling with breastfeeding and Vale’s non-judgemental calm and supportive approach helped during the days when I felt wobbly. She was able to guide me to get specialised support and listened attentively to my woes, which she was not obliged to do!

She was an angel with my daughter and always asked if I wanted to be involved in feeding time which I found incredibly sensitive of her. I would watch Vale softly and lovingly tend to my daughter’s needs, this really meant a lot to me it was the 2nd lockdown and my family were so far away. Even though she was there for my daughter it was comforting that she had not only had newborn baby experience but also postpartum doula knowledge, it felt good to have an extra cushion during this sensitive time. I will never forget the support and time we spent together.
